IEAE Ho Chi Minh Electronics Show 2025: Connecting Global Electronics with Southeast Asia

From May 29 to 31, 2025, the International Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances Exhibition (IEAE Ho Chi Minh) successfully concluded at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC). Organized by ChaoYu Exhibition and co-hosted by VINEXAD, with strong support from Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnam E-Commerce Association, and the Vietnam Electronics Enterprises Association, the show marked another milestone in Southeast Asia’s fast-rising electronics sector.

This year’s exhibition covered 10,000 square meters, gathered 271 quality exhibitors, and attracted 22,091 professional visitors from across Vietnam and neighboring ASEAN markets. Over three days, the event provided a powerful stage for Chinese and international companies to engage directly with Vietnamese buyers, retailers, and distributors, strengthening cross-border trade channels in one of Asia’s most promising consumer electronics markets.

Grand Opening Ceremony

The show officially opened on May 29 at 9:30 a.m., with senior Vietnamese government and industry representatives in attendance:

  • Mr. Su Ngoc Son, Deputy Director, Department of Foreign Market Development, Ministry of Industry and Trade
  • Mr. Vu Hong Son, Chief Representative, Southern Office, Ministry of Industry and Trade
  • Ms. Bui Hoang Yen, Deputy Representative, Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Southern Office)
  • Mr. Vu Tan Thanh, Vice Chairman, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry
  • Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, Chairman, Vietnam Retailers Association
  • Ms. Do Thi Thuy Huong, Vice President, Vietnam Electronic Enterprises Association

During the ceremony, leaders praised the exhibition for building a vital trade bridge between Vietnam and global suppliers. After the ribbon-cutting, officials toured the halls, interacting with exhibitors and offering encouragement for deeper business cooperation.

Spotlight on the Shenzhen Pavilion

One of the highlights of IEAE Ho Chi Minh was the Shenzhen Pavilion, organized under the guidance of the Shenzhen Bureau of Commerce and the Shenzhen Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

A total of 46 Shenzhen companies showcased their latest consumer electronics and home appliances, ranging from smart wearables and AV devices to personal health electronics, smart home appliances, and mobile accessories. Notable participants included Ruihe Technology, Woxin Zhichuang, Simalong Technology, Mifuda Electronics, Epotek, Lindechuang Technology, and Lianneng Technology.

The Shenzhen Pavilion underscored the city’s reputation as China’s electronics powerhouse, where the sector accounts for nearly one-sixth of the national output. By leveraging the IEAE platform, Shenzhen companies enhanced brand visibility and seized opportunities to penetrate Vietnam’s rapidly growing consumer market.

A representative from Ximalong Technology noted: “Vietnam’s AEON supermarkets showed strong interest in our oral health devices such as water flossers and electric toothbrushes. This exhibition has given us confidence to expand here, even considering a local branch or production facility.”

A delegate from Ruihe Technology added: “Vietnam’s growth exceeded our expectations. The market is vibrant, and consumer enthusiasm is very strong. We plan to diversify our product lines to better match local demand.”

Product Trends: Smart, Stylish, and Functional

The exhibition floor was a showcase of innovation, with products that reflected both global technology trends and local consumer preferences.

  • Smart Wearables: Mini-style smartwatches drew long queues of young Vietnamese buyers.
  • Personal Healthcare: Oral care products, massage devices, and portable air purifiers gained strong attention.
  • Home Appliances: Compact, energy-efficient ovens and environment-friendly air coolers matched Vietnam’s growing urban middle-class needs.
  • Mobile & AV Accessories: Earbuds, Bluetooth speakers, and tablet peripherals became instant crowd favorites.

As exhibitors noted, Vietnamese consumers demonstrated high purchasing power and strong interest in functional yet affordable products—making it an ideal testbed for new consumer electronics.

Forums and Knowledge Exchange

In parallel with product displays, the IEAE Ho Chi Minh Show featured high-level forums and seminars. Experts from Vietnam’s electronics sector, alongside executives from leading enterprises, discussed topics such as:

  • Consumer electronics growth trends in ASEAN
  • Smart home appliances and urban lifestyles
  • Digitalization and e-commerce channels in Vietnam
  • Sustainability and green technology in electronics

These discussions not only broadened participants’ understanding of Vietnam’s market evolution but also inspired cross-border collaborations in areas like supply chain integration, product customization, and R&D partnerships.

Business Matching: Direct Access to Buyers

One of IEAE’s most valuable features was the “one-on-one buyer matchmaking program”. Dedicated zones enabled exhibitors to meet Vietnamese distributors, retailers, and corporate buyers in a professional setting.

Notably, VIP buyers such as Sunhouse, BTP Holdings, Hoa Phat, and Song Nhac participated in guided tours, ensuring high-potential suppliers were directly introduced. Exhibitors praised the efficiency of the matchmaking format, which significantly increased their chances of securing concrete orders.

The results spoke for themselves: during the three-day event, business deals worth an estimated RMB 128 million were initiated.

Entertainment and Engagement

Beyond business, the exhibition added elements of fun and engagement. Interactive areas featured eSports influencers, product demo zones, and prize giveaways, keeping energy levels high and attracting younger audiences. The show’s vibrant atmosphere further enhanced buyer-exhibitor connections in a relaxed, engaging environment.

Media Coverage and Global Reach

Multiple Vietnamese and international media outlets, as well as well-known industry KOLs, reported on the exhibition. This extensive exposure boosted the visibility of participating brands not only within Vietnam but across Southeast Asia.

Voices from the Industry

Exhibitors and visitors alike acknowledged the importance of IEAE Ho Chi Minh:

  • Michael Ma, China Chip Depot (leading electronic components distributor in China): “Vietnam is rapidly becoming a vital hub for electronics manufacturing. Attending IEAE Ho Chi Minh gives us first-hand insights into buyer demand, especially in components and peripherals. The direct engagement here helps companies like ours identify new partners in ASEAN.”
  • Representative from Haitike Smart (Shenzhen): “Our mini smartwatches sold out quickly. The strong interest from young consumers reflects Vietnam’s appetite for stylish and affordable smart wearables.”

Such feedback highlights the show’s role not only as a business platform but also as a barometer of Southeast Asia’s electronics consumption trends.
